Whether you’re going to eclectic Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows, classic Edinburgh International Festival extravaganzas or any other Festival, you’ve just found Winton’s very own luxury Edinburgh Festival Accommodation.
Winton Estate is about 30 to 40 minutes east of Edinburgh and the International Airport, hidden in rolling East Lothian countryside. Near all the action but completely out of it.
Winton has two large, self catering lodges which exude comfort and calm, perfect for families and big groups. Choose from the former laird’s house, 5 star Winton Cottage or Georgian Wintonhill Farmhouse. They have 5 and 6 bedrooms and sleep 10-14 guests respectively.
Our country houses can also be booked on a fully- or partly-catered basis.
For the ultimate luxury and a once-in-a-lifetime, castle experience, you can stay in historic splendour in 500 year old Winton Castle, which sleeps up to 16 guests in 8 historic bedrooms.
Live like a king in your own Scottish Renaissance castle for the duration of your visit. You’ll marvel at the remarkable Octagon Hall with the old castle walls revealed, the classic drawing room with views over Sir David’s Loch, the inspiring King Charles Room and the ambience of the ancient vaulted cellar.
You’ll love the intricate plaster ceilings, masterpieces hanging on the walls and carved, twisted chimneys that greet you as you arrive.
Despite its grandeur, Winton Castle is always warm and welcoming, with open fires and a family ambience. Today, the castle is still the family home of the Ogilvys who you’ll no doubt have an opportunity to meet them.
Winton Castle is provided on an exclusive use and catered basis. You’ll enjoy delicious Scottish cuisine cooked up by our award-winning chef and sip a local malt by the open fire. We’ll help organize your entire stay from formal dinners, BBQs and lunches, to any entertainment on the estate.
Contact us direct to book the castle. (Wintonhill Farmhouse and Winton Cottage can be booked online below).
Activities like clay pigeon shooting, archery, a mini highland games or whisky tasting can also be laid on. Or, just sit back and relax around the open fires, absorb the ambience and enjoy the exquisite interior.
