Formerly the Pencaitland Fun Run, the event is now into its 6th year. The run raises funds for Marie Curie and local registered charities, the Pencaitland Primary School PTA and Pencaitland Playgroup.
Participants are encouraged to wear yellow to support Marie Curie, and dressing up is actively encouraged! Will you be a banana or a daffodil? Prizes will be awarded for the best fancy dress outfits.
There are clearly marked and marshaled off road routes along the fantastic Winton Walks for everyone to enjoy, and refreshments to return to.
You’re also invited to come back for Winton Castle’s Open Day the following day, Sunday 15th April 2018.

Whilst the proprietors of Winton Castle regularly maintain the tracks and footpaths, runners should come adequately prepared for uneven, grass, gravel or mud surfaces.
All routes are extensively sign posted and well marshalled. Safety is paramount and we expect runners to follow the advice of marshals and the police at all times especially at points where the 10K route crosses the main road.
To ensure runner safety, wearing headphones is strictly prohibited. Unfortunately, there will be no bike race this year.
Extensive parking is available in Winton Castle’s car park.
Toilet facilities are located in the potting shed and in Winton Castle. An unattended bag drop area is available. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of personal items. Cafe facilities are available at the start/finish line, free water, fruit and biscuit medals will be available to participants on completing the course.
All races start and finish at Winton Castle, Pencaitland, East Lothian. EH34 5AT. All race times will be displayed here after the race. Timing devices are not issued for this event.
The 10K is a beautiful cross country route which circles Winton house exclusively through trail and tracks between Pencaitland, Boggs Holdings and Ormiston. The new 10K route involves fewer road sections and road crossings. The start and finish are in front of Winton Castle.
The 5K runners follow a route close to the 3.5K route.
Every competitor should confirm their safe arrival back at the finish desk even if they have not been able to complete the course.
The 10K route water station is situated at the 5k point. Water and fruit is freely available at the finish line.
