New Games Room, Wintonhill Farmhouse

Our self-catering guests are welcome to walk around the wider estate, however, we would kindly ask that you don’t walk around the main Castle and surrounding manicured gardens as these are hired for private events. A visit to see the Castle can be made by prior appointment by emailing enquiries@wintoncastle.co.uk.

In the case of cancellation, our cancellation policy applies as below.

If you have to cancel your booking you must contact us via email or phone as soon as possible, the cancellation fees are set out below:

  • More than 12 weeks from arrival  – you will be charged the full deposit of £300.00
  • Within 12 weeks to 31 days – you will be charged 50% of the total cost
  • Within 30 days to 15 days – you will be charged 75% of the total cost
  • Within 14 days to 1 day – you will be charged 90% of the total cost
  • Arrival date or later – you will be charged the total cost

Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at Broomrigg Farmhouse and Wintonhill Farmhouse. There would be an additional charge of £30 per dog to cover additional cleaning. Dogs are not permitted at Winton Cottage.

Each of our self-catering properties has use of travel cots and highchairs. Winton cottage also has a play frame in the garden.

We do accept well-behaved Stag and Hen parties in all of our self-catering properties.

Yes, all properties have complementary WiFi

All self-catering properties have at least 1 main TV in the sitting area/ lounge. These are all smart TVs with access to Netflix, Prime etc., however, you will need you own personal accounts for these streaming services to be able to access them.

All bed linens are provided and each guest will be provided with a bath and hand towel.

All toiletries are included; we use Laura Thomas Co. products which are locally sourced from North Berwick and are fully organic.

Each bedroom will be provided with a hairdryer.

The kitchen is well equipped with enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for all guests as well cooking dishes. We also provide a starting amount of washing liquid, dishwasher tabs, washing powder.

A supply of milk, coffee, tea and sugar will be provided in the kitchen.

You are very welcome to bring in a private chef to cater for you within the property. If you would like to explore this option but don’t have a chef in mind please email enquiries@wintoncastle.co.uk for recommendations.

Each property has a BBQ which can be found in the out-house. These must be cleaned after use.

None of out properties are classed as accessible, however, Wintonhill Farmhouse does have a large downstairs shower room and the games room has a sofa bed that can be turned into a bedroom, which is also downstairs.

At present, only Broomrigg Farmhouse has an electric vehicle charging point.

Each property has plenty of parking space within their own car parks. Broomrigg can park up to 5 cars, The Cottage car park can park up to 8 cars and Wintonhill Farmhouse can park up to 10 cars.

The properties are on the outskirts on the village of Pencaitland. Within the village, a short walk from the property, you will find a restaurant/ pub called The Winton Arms, a Spar shop with post office, a small village lunch-time takeaway called The Wee Shop and a café called Roserista.

There is a good size play park in the village, next to the football field.

There is also a great network of walking paths around the village. A lot of which start on the Estate which you can find using our Winton Walks map.
