Corporate Event FAQs

The events team at Winton work with you in the lead up to your event and are then on-hand on the day to ensure your event runs smoothly. Our highly experienced team take pride in ensuring that every event is executed efficiently and with flair.
As Winton Castle is an exclusive use venue, you book the entire castle and grounds ensuring privacy for your corporate event. For smaller events, we can offer the Potting Shed, a lovingly restored gardeners’ bothy that sits on the edge of the walled garden and can accommodate up to 35 guests.
Winton Castle is offered to guests on an exclusive use basis ensuring privacy for our guests and is not open to the public. It still remains the family home to Sir Francis Ogilvy and his family.
Winton Castle is also available for guided history tours for parties of 20 or more visitors, by appointment only.
We do open our doors once a year for the Spring Gardens Open Day through Scotland’s Garden Scheme when we offer tours of the castle and gardens and host a Winton café. This is generally early springtime and is widely promoted through our website, email newsletters and social media channels.
Winton Castle is a short 30 minutes from the city centre and 40 minutes from the airport. We’re in East Lothian in a very accessible location, 12 miles east of the centre of Edinburgh, close to the A1 and central Scotland’s motorway network. See our Location.
We have offered activity days for 250 people recently and should numbers grow, we have ample space for marquees and associated car parking.
In the castle itself, we can seat up to 100 people in the dining room with space for a further 30 guests in adjacent dining space. Winton’s flexible layout means you can choose from a wide variety of different numbers and formats.
Considering that Winton Castle dates from the 15th century, our technology is definitely fit for the 21st century with excellent Wi-Fi connections, as well as a SONOS sound system which runs throughout both the Castle and the Potting Shed.
All our public areas are situated on the main floor of the castle and readily accessible for the majority of guests with impaired mobility. We also have a ramp which can be placed at the front door and disabled toilets. Guests with mobility issues can still enjoy many of our activities and we are always happy to transport guests, short distances in our electric buggies.
No, we have beautiful silver candelabras for table centres and our housekeepers ensure that fresh flowers from our gardens decorate the castle. There is no charge for this.
We are very proud of our record of holding activities regardless of what the weather throws at us and indeed one of our favourite sayings is that ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing!’ So, please come prepared, wearing layers and stout footwear.
Our onsite carpark can park up to 60 cars, however we do have the option of an overflow car park for up to 100 additional cars.
