Winton Castle’s Family Open Day this Sunday 9th April (12-4.30 pm) features dramatic falconry displays by Elite Falconry. The cast includes an Indian Eagle Owl, a Harris Hawk, a Kestrel, a Caracara and a Black Chested Buzzard Eagle. The main display is expected to be about 2pm.

The star of the show is likely to be Marra, a White-Tailed Eagle, who will fly from the castle’s tower with a miniature on-board video to record an eagle’s eye view of the gardens and visitors. This is likely to be towards the end of the afternoon (weather permitting).

Winton’s Open Day will be raising funds for Marie Curie and Scotland’s Gardens charities. Visitors will see Winton’s famous wild daffodils, historic gardens and enjoy lots of family entertainment, including archery, treasure hunts, castle and garden tours, and homemade teas.
