Winton House is a Scottish Renaissance castle and one of the most romantic wedding venues in the Lothians near Edinburgh.
There is nothing more romantic and stylish than arriving at your wedding in a horse and carriage; so, to celebrate St Valentine’s Day, the Winton wedding team is introducing you to Liamar Horse Hire a family run business with a 20 year pedigree which specializes in horse and carriage hire for weddings.
“We work with the traditional Scottish breed, the Clydesdale, renowned for their gentle nature and imposing beauty, and take great pride in getting the horses immaculately turned out,” says Stephanie Malcolm of Liamar Horse Hire.
“Our carriage is a traditional landau, an eye catching carriage which is still a favourite with the royal family.
“The landau is maroon with a folding hood which means that even if it rains you can ensure you arrive dry and in style.”
Winton’s magical, romantic ambience reflects its rich history. Originally built by the Setons in about 1480, Henry VIII had Winton burnt in an effort to impress Mary Queen of Scots during the ‘rough wooing’.
Winton is still the family home of Sir Francis and Lady Ogilvy, and its beautiful conservation comes with a very welcoming, warm, relaxed ambience. We call it intimacy on a grand scale.
