Spectra Travel Celebrates 75 Years of Events and 20 Years of One-of-a-Kind Company Away Days, Meetings and Scottish Experiences at Winton
Spectra Travel brought 140 guests to Winton Castle near Edinburgh for an afternoon of Highland games followed by a falconry display, rounded off with a BBQ dinner in a marquee.
2026 marks a huge milestone for Spectra, the Destination Management Company with offices in London and Edinburgh, because they are celebrating 75 years of designing and delivering event programmes across the UK, an amazing achievement. Spectra creates one-of-a-kind experiences that bring teams together to reward staff and for team transformation.
Julie Britee from Winton Castle says: “Spectra Travel have been sending their clients to Winton Castle for nearly 20 years so we share our congratulations and want to thank them for our highly valued, long term partnership.”
Jack Keenan, Spectra’s host on the day, reflects:
“This April, Spectra delivered another standout incentive programme for a leading US based insurance business specialising in automobile, home, and business coverage. The away day at Winton was created to reward top performers (while ensuring their competitive streak didn’t get left at the airport!). The finale of the programme was a large-scale Winton Highland Games experience.
“The away day was set within the ever-impressive grounds of Winton Castle. The guests were warmly welcomed before being gently (and sometimes not so gently) introduced to Scotland’s more ‘athletic’ traditions. Teams competed in a series of classic challenges, including caber-tossing, wheat-sheaf throwing, wellie-wanging and the Winton Ski challenge.”

For Many Guests It Was Their First Time in Scotland, But Unlikely to Be Their Last

Jack Keenan from Spectra continues:
“All of these activities unfolded to the lively soundtrack of Highland piping and traditional dancing, adding a proper sense of occasion… and just enough pressure to perform! The afternoon built up to a grand tug of war finale, rounding off the event in true Scots style.
“For many guests, it was their first time in Scotland, but Winton ensured it won’t be their last. Time and again, their feedback comes back to the same point: despite its storybook setting, Winton feels like home.
“That unique balance is down to the exceptional events team at Winton Castle and Sir Francis himself, whose warm, personal welcome quickly ensures the venue’s overseas visitors become relaxed, well-looked-after guests. From the first hello to the final farewell, Winton doesn’t just showcase Scotland… it makes their guests feel part of it!”
