Winton's Auction Prize Supports HIT Scotland, the Hospitality Industry Trust
Winton Castle was thrilled when the team from Surgeons Quarter Edinburgh successfully bid for a Highland Games experience donated by Winton to a recent charity auction in aid of HIT Scotland, the Hospitality Industry Trust.
In mid-February Surgeons Quarter Edinburgh headed out to the East Lothian castle to enjoy their prize.
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is a global network of 25,000 medical professionals, that has pioneered surgical breakthroughs and patient care since 1505. The Surgeons Quarter now offers cutting-edge hospitality venues in Edinburgh’s iconic old town.
Their Brand Ambassador, Sandra Carruthers, described their away day at Winton:
“What a day the Surgeons Quarter team had at Winton Castle!
“We were greeted with a warm welcome and great banter that definitely set the right tone for the day.
“We had a shot at Highland Games from axe throwing to tossing the caber, and I got to wear a Highland cow hat and led the most amazing winning team, The Ogilvy Clan.
“We had a blast. However, I have to admit that hay bale throwing wasn’t my strongest point, but I found a hidden talent in the caber tossing!
“To top it off, we met the Winton Estate Highland cows and were looked after with top-tier hospitality from the Winton events crew.
“It was such a phenomenal day filled with endless laughs, a bit of healthy competition and teamwork at its best. Big kudos to our hosts for being absolutely amazing and, of course, to our Team SQ!”
