From Highland Games and Scottish dancing to a gun dog display, Wingate Benefit Solutions enjoy a fun-filled team building day out at Winton Castle near Edinburgh.
Wingate Benefit Solutions from Surrey flew up from Gatwick straight to Winton Castle for an away day of activities, a Winton Highland Games, a ‘picnic style’ lunch followed by a Gun Dog display and drinks, before returning to Edinburgh to check into their hotel for dinner.
Wingate are award-winning employee benefit consultants and financial planners who help small and medium sized businesses design, implement and manage their employee benefits to optimise employee engagement. The visitors are leading providers of health, protection and wellbeing benefits, workplace pensions and voluntary benefits.

Why did you choose Winton Castle for your event?
“I was asked to organise a day/night away and chose Edinburgh. I thought that if we were going to Scotland and having an event, my first thought was to do that in a castle.
“I did some Googling and found Winton Castle and took it from there I sent an enquiry back in July and within a week or two everything was booked!
“The guests were all 38 work colleagues from Wingate – we like to head out for a trip every year. It’s not really work related, more of a fun get together.
“We’d chosen the mini Highland Games and the Gun Dog Show and the feedback from everyone has been so positive and literally everyone had the best time.”
What did you particularly like about your away day at Winton?
“The mini Highland Games was so much fun and all the Winton events team members were just great. Initially I was worried as I wasn’t sure everyone would take part. That never happened! The events team even managed to get some of my colleagues involved in the Scottish Dancing which was a real bonus as some of them hate dancing.
“The Gun Dog display was a great choice as everyone loves dogs and having the little pups there was the icing on the cake. It was so nice to hear all about the dogs as well!
“We loved it all, the location, the castle, the staff, the food/drink. Both events were great and your staff were all so lovely and helpful, and the food and hospitality was fab.
“We particularly enjoyed having the piper who was so great and a lovely guy – everyone loved the Scottish welcome.
“Winton Castle is truly a very special location – thank you for letting us use the venue. I am sure everyone will spread the word about Winton and what a fab place it is. Thank you for hosting us!
